The Four Horsemen return for their most audacious and spectacular act yet, pushing the boundaries of illusion to new heights in hopes of clearing their names and exposing the ruthless practices of a dangerous tech mogul.
A year after their astonishing magic shows captivated audiences and baffled the FBI, the quartet resurfaces for a sensational performance that will make their past escapades look like child's play.
With the help of FBI Special Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), the Horsemen — J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and new recruit Lula (Lizzy Caplan) — orchestrate a meticulously planned surprise act, hoping to expose corrupt tech mogul Owen Case (Ben Lamb).
Unfortunately, their plan backfires, exposing Dylan's involvement with the Horsemen and sending all five on the run again. To regain their freedom and reputation, they are forced by wealthy recluse Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) to retrieve an incredibly powerful chip stolen from him by his former business partner — none other than Owen Case.
The Horsemen soon find themselves navigating between ruthless businessman Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine) and professional skeptic Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman) in an attempt to pull off the most challenging heist of their careers — but even they won't be able to anticipate the ultimate surprise that awaits them.
