Leone Film Group was founded by Sergio Leone in 1989 and is now a company listed on the AIM Italia market, with the director's children, Andrea and Raffaella Leone, as its main shareholders.
In 2001, the company entered the film distribution market with the movie “Traffic”, expanding its scope in subsequent years to all distribution channels, including Free-TV, Pay TV, and Home Video. In 2009, Leone Film Group also began production activities with the film “Generazione Mille Euro”.
Over the years, the company has consistently expanded its distribution lineup, focusing on high-budget films. This consistent activity led to the signing of the first output deal with DreamWorks (Amblin/Storyteller) in December 2012 and with Summit, a Lionsgate subsidiary, in 2013, establishing a solid and significant partnership that will last until June 30, 2019.
In December 2013, the Company was listed on the Italian stock exchange AIM index, and the following year, the Group consolidated its position in the film production industry by acquiring Lotus Production.
In 2015, the Group maximized its know-how and international growth by securing the mandate from Lionsgate for the international executive production of the film “John Wick 2” (a film for which LFG is also the distributor in the Italian market). Since then, LFG has worked on and is still developing numerous international executive productions.
The company also entered the series market, producing its first television series titled “Immaturi” in 2016, thereby officially entering a profitable and growing sector. Other series, such as Colt and Beati Paoli, are currently under development and have an international scope, with the aim of consolidating the company's growth in television productions as well.
In addition to Distribution and Production, the Group manages a collection of approximately 500 titles, including all of Sergio Leone's films for the Italian market and, in many cases, for the international market, along with numerous blockbusters. The archive is continuously growing thanks to existing distribution agreements (DreamWorks and Lionsgate) and strong ties with major producers in the United States.

Leone Film Group is managed by a Board of Directors composed of six members, one of whom is an independent director. Extensive powers have also been delegated to two managing directors.
