Leone Film Group is taking the legacy of its founder, spaghetti western master Sergio Leone, to the next level. The Rome-based company, run by the master's children, Raffaella and Andrea, while celebrating its 35th anniversary, continues to solidify its position as a preeminent supplier of independent US products in Italy. Indeed, the Leone's film and television production has recently grown with a robust slate of high-end content for the international market. After becoming the main distribution partner in Italy for independent US productions such as Lionsgate, STX Entertainment, Voltage, and Black Bear, Leone Film Group is now focusing on what Raffaella Leone calls the "most difficult task" of "laying the groundwork for our international production." The group's Lotus Production label, now directly managed by Raffaella, has a slate of projects in various stages, with new films from James Gray, Isabel Coixet, and Gabriele Muccino. While bolstering its production division, LFG is committed to forging ties with a galaxy of production partners, from Spain's Mediapro to Ridley Scott's Scott Free, to Rodrigo Teixeira's Brazilian RT Features and "The White Lotus" producer David Bernad.© Variety
