The Post
1971: Katharine Graham (Streep) is the first female publisher of The Washington Post in a society where power is typically male, and Ben Bradlee (Hanks) is the gruff and stubborn editor of her newspaper. Despite Kay and Ben being very different, their investigation and courage will trigger the first major shake-up in the history of journalism with an unprecedented leak, revealing to the entire world the massive cover-up of government secrets concerning the Vietnam War that lasted for decades. The fight against institutions to guarantee freedom of information and the press is at the heart of the film, where moral choices, professional ethics, and the risk of losing everything intertwine in a powerful political thriller. The two will risk their careers and their very freedom in an effort to publicly expose what four Presidents had hidden and covered up for years.
