Beatrice (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) is a talkative, self-proclaimed millionaire and countess who claims to be on intimate terms with the world's most powerful people. Donatella (Micaela Ramazzotti) is a young, tattooed, and silent woman, shrouded in her own mystery. Both are patients at a mental health clinic, also held under court-ordered detention.
The film tells the story of their unpredictable friendship and their escape from the constraints of their treatment, which becomes a hilarious and moving adventure for two women deemed technically insane, as they search for a little joy and love in the open-air asylum that is the world of the sane.
