Oscar winner Mel Gibson directs an epic film about the true story of American army medic, Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield).
The man, a conscientious objector who refused to carry a weapon, was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman for single-handedly saving over 75 comrades during the brutal Battle of Okinawa in World War II.
