Pulse Films and Leone Film Group have announced a documentary project about Sergio Leone, to be directed and written by Francesco Zippel. Pulse Films will co-produce the documentary through its new affiliate, Pulse Films Italia. “This project, which we have been developing for some time with Francesco Zippel, who will direct it, deeply excites and involves us for obvious reasons,” states Raffaella Leone, CEO of Leone Film Group. “We are therefore truly enthusiastic to announce that we have reached a co-production agreement with Pulse Films, with whom we will work side-by-side to create an innovative and far-reaching documentary, much like the man and the cinema whose story it will tell. We thank, once again, Gianluca Farinelli and his Cineteca di Bologna for their invaluable assistance.” The film will benefit from exclusive material from the Cineteca di Bologna, which recently organized a highly successful exhibition dedicated to Sergio Leone in both Paris, at the Cinémathèque Française, and Rome, at the Ara Pacis. Gianluca Farinelli and his team conducted meticulous research to recover materials related to Sergio Leone, which will be available for the film.
