AFTER 2, the highly anticipated new chapter from Anna Todd's bestselling saga, has arrived in cinemas. On its opening day, it clearly topped the box office with a record-breaking debut of 650,000 euros and an average of 1,015 euros per screen. AFTER 2, released yesterday in Italian cinemas thanks to 01 Distribution in collaboration with Leone Film Group, marks the best post-lockdown debut and represents a huge signal from the public. Despite social distancing in theaters and only 80% of cinemas being open compared to last year's potential, AFTER 2 exceeded all expectations. "We committed, we took risks, and we won a bet that was shrouded in many unknowns," state Andrea Leone, President and CEO of Leone Film Group, and Raffaella Leone, CEO of Leone Film Group. "For this reason, even more than on other occasions, we are extremely proud of this very positive and significant result, especially at a time when the cinema world is seriously grappling with post-lockdown reopening. These numbers further strengthen our bond with the cinema-going public. Our thanks go, once again, to our partners Rai Cinema and 01 Distribution, and to all the exhibitors who supported and stood by us in this endeavor."
