The jurors of the Giffoni Film Festival, Europe's most important festival for young people, showed immense warmth towards English actor Sam Claflin, applauding, cheering, and being moved during the screening of 'Adrift'. The film is inspired by a true story in which protagonists Tami Oldham (Shailene Woodley, previously starring in 'The Fault in Our Stars' and 'Divergent') and her fiancé Richard Sharp (Sam Claflin, beloved star of 'Me Before You' and 'The Hunger Games') set sail from Tahiti for San Diego, only to be caught in a massive hurricane that destroyed their boat and left Richard severely injured. Claflin, making his second appearance at Giffoni, recounted their 41 days adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to the incredibly well-prepared and attentive young audience, who were so captivated that they secured a promise from the actor to return for a third time at the Festival!
