Dumb Money is a modern-day David vs. Goliath story.
The film tells the wildly true story of ordinary people who united to revolutionize global finance, turning GameStop (yes, the mall video game store) into the hottest company in the world. It all started with an ordinary guy, Keith Gill (Paul Dano), aka Roaring Kitty, who, from his basement, invested his life savings in GameStop stock and encouraged his followers to do the same via his Reddit profile.
The stock's value skyrocketed, as did his life and the lives of everyone who followed him and bet alongside him.
But when the big hedge funds are pushed to the brink of bankruptcy, the System tries to restore the balance of power, because playing the stock market is no child's play.
